Shutting Down for a Makeover!

For those of you who may have missed the news, I'm giving my blog a makeover! So, if you are stopping in during the chaos, DON'T PANIC! Everything should be in order by the end of the week!

Isn't it just crazy what you can do with a computer?

I'm shutting down from Monday (today) until Friday (January 21). I'll see you all on Saturday!

dtwilight...I think I will miss it too, but hopefully I can make something that i will like just as much.

Matt...Yeah, it felt bright, especially compared to the old look. Grrr! I just can't make up my mind. There is always something little that I don't like.

  10. It's too late and I can't type!!!! GRRRRR! I meant "I'm thinking I am going to change all the RED to black. SOUND like a bit of a good plan?"

    I'm going to bed!

  11. Border looks nice, but the yellow is bright and distracting (to me). Maybe a blue or some darker shade in its place?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Hey Aubrie,

I agree with Matt. The yellow hurts my eyes and also my mind just a little bit. That is an interesting border though. A royal blue might be a good background, and be accented very nicely by the border... something like this: http://www.ikeafans.com/galleries/images/25052/2_GlobusCork-RoyalBlue100.jpg only maybe a little brighter/less contrast.
The red isn't bad with the current theme. Maybe make the red just a little darker, like a wine red, or closer to your title text.

Anyways, looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Buona fortuna!

  13. Matt and Patrick...yes. I'm not liking yellow in any form on this blog. I kept trying to use it because I really like the color but I agree that it is too bright. I wanted to change it his morning but I ran out of time. I'm thinking grey so that I still have that book format of dark writing on a lighter background. I will look at the link you sent though first patrick. I can't view it on my phone at the moment. Well, off to class "see" you all later.

  14. I don't know if grey would work. I saw a bit of it before and it seemed distracting. Grey tends to stand out over white and black font and even appears to overtake and consume the letters. Depending upon the shade, it could look dark and muddy, making it hard to read the font, or have a brightness that outshines the text and makes it hard to focus.

  15. Wow, you changed it as I was literally writing that post. It's not too bad, but with the spectral raindrops blending in, it's stressful on the eyes. Perhaps change the background image, but keep the color scheme?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Matt...Thanks for the input, but I think I'm done with the background. I finally like it the way it is. It's strange because it's almost the complete opposite of what it was before.

  17. I was viewing this from a library pc and it seemed worse, but on my laptop it is not so bad.

That's not so strange, really. On your monitor, does the floral border touch the edges of the screen?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Matt...Good to know. And, yes, the border does touch the edge of the screen.

    ReplyDelete
  19. This is how it looks for me:

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/AshAileron/164079_10150137251031113_510431112_8347347_2229694_n.jpg

It's no issue, but I wonder if there's a way to make it adjust to any viewers' aspect ratio?

  20. Matt...As far as I know. There is no magic button to make it look the same on everyone's computer. Your screenshot looks like your zoom is too far out on your screen.

In the bottom right hand corner of your screen, there should be a percentage. Make sure that is at 100% or closer (whatever fits). Mine is at 100%, and I have a widescreen laptop.

That is the only thing I can think could be off.

    Here's what mine looks like...

  21. I don't have permission to see the image. I don't see a percentage, either (I'm using Firefox), but I'm not too concerned with it.

I feel like I'm nitpicking, so I must apologize.

  22. Great. Can't wait to see what you have planned. :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Looking good AubrieAnne! Can't wait to see your new buttons

    ReplyDelete
  24. Matt...Opps. It's because I added it to private images on flickr instead of the public. sorry about that. It could be Firefox doing it. I'm on internet explorer and google crome and they look fine. It even looks good on my iphone :)

Helloagainvintage...It's getting there. I should be good to go right on time on Friday.

dtwilight...Thanks a bunch. Some of the new buttons are one the left sidebar already, but they are just to send you to other pages on my blog. Although, I am hoping to make a few new regular buttons that match the new look just as nicely. I'll add those when I finish up the pages and after I actually make them. lol.

  25. And I have not forgotten my questionnaire. My father-in-law died yesterday and we have been preoccupied with family.

  26. I was reading through your "About Me" page and the segment about collecting things reminded me of something from my childhood.

In the shrubs around our duplex on post (base), I found a detached lawnmower pull cord. I pretended it was a snake and it became an imaginary friend. On a few occasions, I would go between the brick wall and the bushes and play with it. Then my father threw it away.

What's really odd to me is the fact that at the edge of our yard, near the road, was a pair of giant bushes, taller than people. It would have made a perfect place in which to play, but I never went in but once. Maybe my mother restricted me.

  29. Matt...Thanks. It's my favorite part right now.

Debbie...I am so sorry to hear that. Take your time. :)

Matt (again)...I did not know that. We, as kids, have very active and strange imaginations.

The Creative Muslimah...Thank you. I am happy that you like it so far!

    Sophiea...Hello! Thank you!

  30. Well, I'm thankful that some of us have retained ours.

  31. Matt...Yes, hopefully. Imgaination is pretty essential to a bit of escape, innocence, and writing. :)
