WEbook!

http://www.webook.com/
A little over two years ago, I finished my first creative writing class and found myself writing like crazy with no way of getting feedback or sharing my work with other people who were interested in writing. That’s when I discovered WEbook.com (, a fantastic writing community. The community was relatively when I first signed up and posted the beginnings of my first two novels, a collection of poetry, and started a group where writers can assist each other with research.

Quickly, the community grew, spanning internationally, and collecting millions of readers, writers, and editors of all ages and from all different countries. I soon found myself swimming in constructive criticism, positive feedback, suggestions, and praise for my writings. I also made many new friends and had tons of online manuscripts just waiting to be read and reviewed.

The community is easy to maneuver, add content, delete content, leave feedback on projects, build groups, join existing groups, read Webook’s blog, enter your own writings in competitions, submit your work to be reviewed by an agent, even get published!

Here's the poetry book that both Shah Wharton and I were recently published in. You can find it here on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Very-Best-WEbook-Poetry-2009/dp/1935003089/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1292306047&sr=1-1
I highly suggest it to any writer looking to get a bit of feedback, make new friends who are interested in exactly what you are, or if you’re just looking to read other new writer’s works. It’s great for motivation and promoting yourself (just like a blog)!

If you don’t believe me, just ask these lovely people…

and

They're all blogging and members of WEbook!

I hope you get the chance to consider WEbook.com for your own writings. It’s honestly one of the best online communities I have ever joined. And trust me, I’ve joined a lot! None were as kind, helpful, or easy to use as WEbook.

If you do join, come find me! Here’s the link to my profile and you can friend me there, read some of my own work, and/or send me a message…

I hope I’ll see you there. Also, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me!

So, what do you think? Does WEbook sound like something for you?
Have you ever joined an online writing community before? Which ones?
Do you ever share your writing with anyone? Who?

  2. Thanks for the mention here Aubrie. You are the editing legend on WeBook - I've learned so much from your feed back over time.

Matt? Don't think I know your WeBook user name? Send your link and I'll peruse your offerings. My user name is shahw.

I whole-heartedly agree with you that this is the best writing site. I've join a lot, but WeBook is so accessible. I used to keep all my writings to myself, now they are aired and with feedback. Really opens your eyes, really teaches you valuable lessons. And you meet so many great people like yourself. Fabulous. I've got quite a few people to join it actually. ;) X

  5. I still adore Webook even though it seems like I'm fixated on blogging at the moment. I've got a page to fame entry and ugh, it's taking forever to go anywhere, so I think I get bummed and click out early.

Not to mention Chase has gotten strangely silent. I think the whole Nano thing scared her into the recesses of my mind. Or maybe now she knows exactly what she's gotta do and has gone into hiding.

Thanks again for the pop sweetie, I think you were one of my first contacts on Webook and I still remember your challenge was one of the first I read when I joined. I was hooked then and there!

  6. Matt...No problem and thank you. It's certainly been a ride.

shah...Awww, thank you. Yes, that's exactly what I meant. Very accessible. I'm also happy to hear you have gotten people to join and have found so much success there yourself. :)

Donna...I know exactly what you are saying. I have been all blog, blog, blog lately and I'm supposed to be judging a Christmas contest on Webook and I'm trying to revise my two novels and get them up. It's been this tug of war. But blogging has kept me writing so that makes me happy.

Haha! My characters hide from me all the time. I feel like when I want to write the first hour is me screaming "Maura! Talis! Where are you? Get your a**es out here!!!"

No problem. I'll sell your link across the internet for you if you want. lol. Yeah for WEbook and bringing us together!

  10. I have joined several forum sites but I like the camaraderie which results when interacting with like minded people around their blogs. Magpie Tales and Theme Thursday, for example, also provide weekly writing opportunities and you gain some fraternity there.

  11. Thanks for the site. I have been looking for a place to call home. I think I even sent a request to friend you...not sure though. I am still learning how to navigate and pilot the whole thing.

  12. Paul C...Awesome. I will have to check out those blogs. Thanks for letting me know.

Atypical Scott...Yes! I just accepted you friends request a few minutes ago. I'm going to favorite your profile on my computer so I can come back later and check everything out. I hope I have converted you and you can find a home for your writing. Good luck figuring everything out and just shoot me a comment here or a message on WEbook if you have any questions.

  13. Anyone who likes writing, as Aubrie has said, WeBook is fabulous. If you want feedback - my user name is Shahw - ask and I will give it! Hi everyone - And Aubrie - you said you'd like me to submit on you - 'Christmas week?' was it? What you want? I'm in!! X

  14. It's a poetry week. Doesn't have to be about Christmas though. I'll send you the details through WEbook. Plus, I'll have an intro post to it on Saturday. (I gotta go write that soon!)

  15. Ah, WeBook - my creative companion. (I've seen you all there!!) Not sure how I came upon it, but so very glad that I did. Some friendships I've made will be forever binding. And the Challenges - gotta love the Challenges, even if I fail quite miserably at them. Great way to express what's hidden inside. Webook - a little too-damn-fabulous a place to connect. <3

  16. Moana...It is great to have friends from all walks on the Internet! YEAH! I love the challenges too! I've never won, but I got an honorable mention in the "Cheating Challenge" that I am exceedingly proud of!!! Is your penname there the same? I bet I've seen you there too!
