A Dialogue...Between my Roommate and her Fiance (Scene 2)

I don't know about you guys but I find this stuff hilarious!

The Scene: (3 weeks ago) My roommate spends $30 on a container of wildflower seeds and fertilizer. She plants them the next day in the field in front of the house. (Present day) Me, my roommate, and my roommate's sister are in the kitchen baking cookies. My roommate's fiance walks in the door, having just finished mowing the lawn.

The Dialogue:

Fiance:
Honey, I mowed the lawn and made it bigger!
Roommate:
What do you mean?
Fiance:
I mowed down front.
Roommate:
How far?
Fiance:
Past the tree line!
Roommate:
You jerk! You mowed down all my wild flowers!
Sister:
Looks outside. I don't see any wildflowers.
Me:
That's becuase he just mowed them all down.
Sister:
Oh!
Sister and I continue to laugh until we cry while roommate and fiance fight in the background.

End Scene:

Oh! The beauty of living with an almost married couple. Just too funny! If only roommate #2 was around more to enjoy it as much as I do. There are always tons of people at the house with roommates family, roommate's fiance's family, other roommate, and friends. Anyone else have a crazy living situation? Love it? Hate it?

  1. Seeing as how I'm not a very social person, having all these people come in and out would kind of make me anxious and turtle-like. Although if everyone understood that I was shy and made an effort to make me talk and bring me out of my shell, I'd be OK with that. A little weirded out at first, but I'd probably get used to it. However, this has yet to happen with a roommate. Not sure if I'm gonna get one when I move out. I do like hearing your roommate stories though.

    1. That's why it's nice to room with people you have known for a long time. My roommate and I have known eachother for 15 years. I've known her fiance for 7 years. And I've known my second roommate for 14 years. It's so nice because they know me very well. However, if anything were to happen, I would hate to ruin those friendships that I've had for so long. I don't think that would happen though.

Glad you like the stories. They amuse me, but I don't want to bore anyone with them.

    2. Well, the only time I lived with a friend, it was a girl I had known for about a year and a half at the time I moved in with her and that ended up disastrous! After less than two months, we were no longer friends and I was just the girl who helped her pay the rent and utilities and who she could blame for stuff she was too childish to take responsibility for.

    3. That's terrible. So sad you had to go through that and lose a friend over it too. In college I lived with my current roommate and two other girls that we had known for less than a year and there was a lot we had to work out between eachother. We especially fought over food, the dishes, and taking out the trash. Really stupid stuff. I think there is always that time of conflict early on and everyone has to be the bigger person at times. Sounds like your roommate wasn't doing her part. Eventually, I think things will work out, but there are times when personalities are just not going to get along and the best thing you could have done was to get out, which you did.

I thought about living alone for a long time, but after rooming in college, I knew I wanted people around. Eventually, I am sure I will live on my own though. Definitely when my other friends are more settled. Now, we all want to be around each other. Plus, sharing the reant is always a plus!

  2. I have done sharing way too many times and at times liked it, at times hated it. Now I'd simply hate it. I don't deal well with too many people in my living space. This scene is so typical of men though - they always think they know best and charge in like bulls - then wonder why we're so 'unreasonable/ungrateful' grr! Amusing scene nonetheless :) And I can tell you love living there, which is superb.

Instead, if you aren't planning to use them within a week or two, store the beans in an air-tight container in the freezer to preserve freshness.play bazaar
